Today's Tangents

  • I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.  We had 28 family members over for supper and an additional six for dessert bringing our Thanksgiving attendance an all time record high of 34!  It was a little nuts at times but the wonderful thing about it was that we were surrounded by family.  Jayson was also in rare form, as you can see from the above photos, so our families thoroughly enjoyed their time with him.

  • With Thanksgiving out of the way it's time for the Christmas Cards to go out!  I'm a little behind this year. I still have to mail ours.  The Kardashians however have revealed theirs and I must say, it is far from Christmas-like.  In analyzing their card, I wonder what hidden messages are subliminally being conveyed.  There are no men, aside from Bruce, in the photo.  Bruce is trapped in a bankers tube similar to one you would use at the drive-thru teller.  Does this symbolize he's soon to be sucked out of the picture?  A mannequin next to the tube is wearing an Olympian medal perhaps symbolizing that he's rode his Olympian status all the way to the bank?  Above Kourtney and Khloe is a "coming soon" sign and an infant.  Khloe has been trying to conceive for years, is this a pregnancy announcement of sorts?  The younger daughters, Kendall and Kylie, are standing on piles of tabloids alongside broken mannequins.  I'm not sure the symbolism bodes well for their modeling careers.  Kris Jenner is sitting atop a dilapidated box office ticket-booth which could be symbolic of her as the sales gate keeper for unlimited viewing into their circus of a life.  The entire scene is all very neon and Vegas Show-girl-esque (I know that's not a real word) but I have to wonder if they are going to film from a new location such as Vegas and this will be the last season for Kim, as she is standing beneath a neon sign which reads "the end."  Read into it what you may, but this is one strange Christmas card.

  • Sad news hit Hollywood hard Saturday with reports that Paul Walker and Roger Rodas had died in a car crash in Southern California only hours after Paul's reps had denied cruel rumors of a death hoax online.  Even more gruesome are reports that Roger's eight year old son witnessed the crash and attempted to rescue his father.  Irregardless of Paul's celebrity status, he died all too young and leaves behind a daughter, many adoring fans, and several charity works.  RIP Paul and Roger.
