It's no secret that time escapes us. It's more evident when you have a child and especially when you have a blog. I apparently haven't been in here to post since July! We have a had a very busy couple of months. We made two more trips to NJ, a trip to Adirondack Animal Land, a trip to the Thousand Islands, went to our local County fair, celebrated Ace's first birthday, and celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary. Phew!

Well, hey there! Long time no see! We have been so busy that I just haven't had a moment to sit down and compile my creative juices into any form of blog post. From now until September the weekends have booked up as well, so posts may be few and far between until then.
Let's see...so what have we been up to?

How do you memorialize someone who was larger than life? My grandfather was the patriarch of our family. To me he was the epitome of strength and moral value. He always had a story to tell and could find a teachable moment in any given situation. He would tell me to "do the right thing" and "go with your gut" and asked me to "give him a growl" if I needed a hand with anything.

STOP GROWING. Seriously. Just stop. It seems like yesterday you were born and only a moment ago you had turned one. Today you turn two and we'll be celebrating in style surrounded by family, friends and minion themed decor while dining on your favorite pizza.

This is a great little concept. There are so many articles lately about being content with what you have. It's the key to happiness. In a world where keeping up with the Jones' pretty much trumps everything, it's a daily struggle to take a deep breath and appreciate what we have versus what we want. It's all about one's outlook and perspective.

This is the face of a saint. Not a saint bernard, but a saint in the literal sense. This dog puts up with so much crap from my son Jayson, I almost feel bad for him. But he asks for it. He really does. He and Jayson are inseparable. Irregardless of the trouble Jayson has in mind, Ace still goes to him when he calls him.
Frequently his fur has sticky or matted sections from grubby little hands covered in ketchup, syrup, yogurt, fruit snacks or any other substance Jayson has recently consumed. Ace doesn't mind though. He got to share whatever was covered in the ketchup or syrup. It's a slight price to pay. Luckily he's dapple colored, it allows stuff like that to blend in.
He accepts hugs that are a little too tight. Despite being a whopping eleven pounds, he will wrestle and roll around on the kitchen floor with Jayson who easily outweighs him 2.5 times over. He will also snuggle up tight for a nap, subject to being rolled over on and any other thrashing around that Jayson does.

Jayson is one year, ten months and one week old. Or in simpler terminology he is twenty-two months. Hard to believe he'll be two in just about two months time. Actually, it's not hard to believe because we're currently experiencing the terrible-twos in our household. He's cutting his two-year molars and suffering from yet another ear infection (his third to be exact) so I guess I should cut the kid some slack, but this momma is strung out! Perfect time to write a blog post though, because I think it'll help me regroup and fall back in love with the little monster that I was all too happy to drop off at daycare today (sorry Laura!)

I find myself emotional today. No real rhyme or reason. Not really sure what's going on there. Perhaps it's the winter blues. Valentine's Day is this weekend. Woo-hoo. No big plans made. My husband will be snowmobiling. Anywho, on the topic of Valentine's day I'll share a few tidbits that had me a little choked up this morning:

So now that it is officially 2015, I realize that I have slacked quite a bit in the blog department. Jayson has been more active than ever and adding a puppy to the mix has certainly cut down on any free time I've had. So let's catch up on items I forgot to share with you so that we can start the New Year off with a clean slate... mmmkay? (Did you just picture Lumbergh from Office Space when I said that?)
