Turning Six Summary

Much like the rest of our lives right now, turning six for Jayson seemed to occur in fast forward.  He started Kindergarten in September and continued to play soccer and tee ball, so on evenings and weekends we shuttled from practice to game and back home to devour quick bites and shower up to do it all again the next day. The day of Jayson's 6th Birthday Party was no different.  We had cousins arrive the night before, we hustled off to his tee ball game in the morning, and then we rushed to Get Hooked Kickboxing for his Ninja themed party, where he did a quick change in the car and we were *this close* to being late. 

April Showers...

This weekend I had another shower to attend, but this time it wasn't mine! Our family celebrated my sister-in-law's upcoming wedding by throwing her a bridal shower at Brooks House of BBQ.  The weather was fantastic and the location was so accommodating.  I tell you, they do such a nice job over there.  Not only do I love their food, but now I've attended four events they've hosted and the service is consistently stellar. 

That officially concludes my obligations for the month of April!  Boy, it was such a busy month but now our little man can come at any time and I'd be completely ready.  I've made no further weekend plans or commitments from here on out.  Seventeen days and counting!

Furry Friday: Collages

For the month of April I have been one heck of a busy pregnant lady so my apologies ahead of time for the lack of posts.  My mother-in-law surprised me with a baby shower on April 5th, my sister-in-law's bachelorette weekend was the weekend of the 13th, my surprise family baby shower was on April 20th, a baby reception was held for me at work on April 24th, and this weekend is my sister-in-law's bridal shower!  Not to mention I've been trying to wrap things up at work in preparation for my impending time off.  Unfortunately there are only so many hours in a day and only so much of my energy to go around.  For those of you missing out on Furry Friday posts, Riley is still very much his self and our little love bug.  He gives everything the sniff check in the baby's room and the downstairs playroom.  Here's hoping he's a great big brother!  So let's kick off this Furry Friday post with a new photo of our Rye-guy followed by photos from each of the events that have been keeping me so busy (click to enlarge):

Foot rub anyone?

I feel like I've been going non-stop for a week straight.  This is a feat in and of itself considering most days I don't feel like I can get out of first gear, so to be going non-stop is really quite the accomplishment for me.  

This past week was a huge payroll period for me since it was the start of the second semester.  There was also a freak snow storm midweek on payday and as much as I wanted to stay home in bed, I made the trek to work to hand out paychecks.  Plus I had a hair appointment that evening that I didn't want to miss.  Well, needless to say it never fails that my hair appointments land on bad weather days and end up rescheduled.  So instead I made follow up phone calls to vendors for my sister-in-law's bridal shower.  Thursday I finally got my hair done, it's a little more red than anticipated but a much needed change none the less.  Friday was the Midyear Mingle on Campus which my committee is in charge of, and so I spent most of the day on my feet setting up and working the event.  Ouch.  I have never felt my feet throb before, I'm going to assume its a side effect of pregnancy.  Who knew carrying around a half baked fetus could cause that much pressure on the old feet?  After work on Friday Justin and I met with a local daycare provider.  I need to call and set up a few more places for comparison, but I felt it went pretty well.  But I tell you, by the time we got home I have never been more happy to put my feet up.  However, the week wasn't over.

Furry Friday: Chillaxin

It's been a while since I've done a Furry Friday post, and it's not because Riley hasn't been full of spunk and keeping us all entertained.  We've been so busy lately that I've failed to capture most of those moments on camera. What I have been fortunate to get shots of was some of our downtime where we were just chillaxin. Well, I shouldn't take all the credit.  My sister managed to snag two out of three of the below photos.  Just looking at them makes me smile.  I love my little fur buddy.
