So now that it is officially 2015, I realize that I have slacked quite a bit in the blog department. Jayson has been more active than ever and adding a puppy to the mix has certainly cut down on any free time I've had. So let's catch up on items I forgot to share with you so that we can start the New Year off with a clean slate... mmmkay? (Did you just picture Lumbergh from Office Space when I said that?)
Musings on life, candid reviews, and other such nonsense... who am I kidding? This has become a mom blog, plain and simple.

Crazy Train
Time to derail the crazy train and catch y'all up to what's been going since the last time I posted.
I ended up taking Jayson to the doctor. He did have thrush. He was put on nystatin both orally and in cream form for 14 days. The cream made his diaper rash worse. We stopped using that right away and went with straight up cornstarch to clear up his diaper region. The oral nystatin continues to be a struggle we have to endure until this Wednesday. He's supposed to take it 4x a day. Yeah, joy of joys. Poor kid. He certainly knows how not to take medicine now. On the plus side the thrush appears to be gone.

When Baby's Sick...
...Mommy's sick shortly thereafter. Whatever Jayson had hit me with a vengeance. I was back to work Wednesday only to be going to Urgent Care on Thursday morning. Tonsillitis was my diagnosis. Thank goodness it wasn't another "it's just viral" appointment! I was prescribed antibiotics and by today (Sunday) I will say I was feeling much better. My balance is still a little off since my one ear is still clogged and I'd like it if this general "brain fog" would lift as well, but at least I can swallow now. The hubs and I did some major house cleaning and hopefully whatever this illness was doesn't impact him next. We have 27+ people expected at our house for Thanksgiving and we'd like to all be healthy! Not to mention, I really cannot afford to be off work at all this week since I'll be playing some pretty serious catch up.

Pass the Ketchup
Ok, I am in serious need of catching everyone up on the past week of activities which of course flew by in a blink of an eye. I don't know where the time went, but it went so quickly I had no time to blog.
At any rate, we had a wonderful July 4th holiday surrounded by friends and family. Even though it was a week night we threw together a bbq. The local fireworks are viewable from our front lawn so most of our guests stayed late to enjoy them. This year we had plenty of activities planned: wiffle ball, washers, ladder ball, horseshoes, and of course the pool. I also tried out a new recipe for Raspberry Rhubarb Upside Down Cake which was out of this world.
