Weekend Recap

Our little family of three traveled down to the Jersey Shore for a four day weekend.   It gave us some much needed down time before the dreaded return to work and the inevitable drop off to daycare.  On this trip Jayson experienced his first ever carousel ride, a day at Popcorn Park Zoo, his first boat ride and a hibachi dinner experience. As you can see his bucket list (much like this summer) is dwindling very quickly,  lol.  Jayson was all about the carousel.  His face just lit up when we came upon it on the boardwalk.  It was the music that really got his attention.  Fortunately we didn't have to wait too long before the next round of rides. A video of his ride can be seen here

Juice Head

Contrary to popular belief, the above title is not a reference to Jersey Shore.  Although, I caught the tail end of a segment on E! last night about Pauly D and something about being the DJ for his own wedding??  I didn't realize he was in a committed relationship.  Guess I'll have to google that later...

Getting back on topic, I wanted to tell you all how wonderful having my own juicer is.  This past summer my mother and I attempted to make our own grape jelly with the grapes from my yard. I had a 30 gallon garbage can FULL of grapes that I needed to use up.  Let me tell you, the process would have gone a lot smoother if I'd had a juicer and a lot of grapes would not have gone to waste.  That being said, this year I'm prepared thanks to my mother-in-law Jean and her guy Dave.  My Christmas gift from them this year was a Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer Express.  This puppy purrs.  Seriously, it sounds like it is purring.  I can't believe I've waited until now to test it out.  I was a little intimidated at first but it was so easy to use, easy to clean, and the juice I made tasted amazing.  My husband and I finished the 2 quart container of juice I made in 3 days.

Furry Friday: Soaking It Up

As you may recall, Justin and I have been renovating the upstairs bathroom.  I have to admit, Justin and my dad have been doing most of the work.  I've helped with the demolition, provided creative vision, selected items for the decor, and of course I'm helping support the project financially.  Justin and my dad kid around that I'm the project manager, but in reality I'm an extra brain to pick and I'm the person they send to the hardware store when they need something.  Whichever way you look at it, our little arrangement works and the bathroom is coming out great.  Looking at it now, it's hard to believe it started out as a plastic pink tile mess with a mismatched tub surround and peeling wallpaper.  We now have fresh drywall and beautiful porcelain tile that mimics the look of natural stone.  The best part is we're just few steps away from the finished product reveal, so stay tuned!

Furry Friday: No Love for Lola

Seeing as how we were blessed with snow in the great North East this week, I had the luxury of staying home a day and a half due to "inclement weather."  Making exceptional use of this time at home I got caught up on Jersey Shore re-runs, put in four hours of shoveling, and fit in a two hour nap.  In the middle of all of that I somehow managed to feed my two nameless fish, walk the dog, and entertain phone calls from my pal Danielle.  Tough life, I know.

GTL Again

For those of you die hard Jersey Shore fans, last night was the long awaited premiere for Season Five.  As ridiculous as this show is, I cannot help but watch it.  Prior seasons were full of Ronnie/Sam drama which seemed to overtake the show in a negative way, but when those two decided to pop a prozac the show became quite enjoyable again.  This is not to be confused with saying it's become drama free because that is certainly not the case.

Already Mike "The Situation" and his friend "The Unit" are stirring the pot with Snooki about what apparently went down between them.  There has been some speculation that Mike has gay tendencies.  Vinny is severely depressed about extended time away from his family, and Pauly-D hooks up with Ryder which makes Deena jealous.  Surprisingly there's yet to be any drama involving Ronnie, Sam or J-Woww but this is just the first episode.

Fist Pump!

For all you juice-head, meatball loving fist-pumpers out there: Jersey Shore Season Four premiers August 4 at 10pm on MTV.  I've not yet watched the season premier trailer, but from countless reviews already out on the web I'm led to believe this season is not going to disappoint.  Apparently Snooki and the Situation become an item, Vinny grows a stache, Deena and Paully-D lick (not to be confused with like) each other, and J-Woww continues to duke it out.  One thing I am hoping, although not holding my breath, is that Sammie and Ronnie not steal the spotlight as the typical Domestic Violence Duo that they are.  I grew so tired of tuning in last season to watch their train wreck of a relationship.  The name calling, destruction of belongings, and physical violence was so horrendous that I was waiting for MTV to slap up a disclaimer screen about the effects of Domestic Violence and a help hotline.  Oddly enough they did not.  Thank you MTV for teaching the youth of America how to mistreat each other in the name of love.  Ok...that was me being sarcastic and getting off topic. Anywho, if you would like to get a sneak peek at what's to come I've included a youtube clip for your enjoyment:

Who else is excited to tune in August 4, 2011 for Jersey Shore?  Anyone having a fist-pump party (I hear these things exist)?
